08.03.20 Easter Series Hill Climb

Quite why Easter is a different date every year is a mystery to me and many others I suspect, but that is a debate for another time. The impact of this diary uncertainty meant that with the sun going down at 6.17 it was an early start for the first rider off the blocks in the gathering gloom. The bad news apart from the visibility was the chilly temperature; the good news was a dry road surface and strong westerly breeze blowing riders up the hill...yippee. This led to fast times all round with Scott Pitcher putting in an excellent performance taking 3^rd in 4.23, just 1 second off second place. Also good to Steve Jolley, Peter’s brother, visiting from the UK taking part and putting in an impressive time, taking 5th. Others doing well were Mike Mitch, Nick Le Cocq and Doc King all coming in under 5 mins. Further back in the field the battle between Susan & Jo continued with only a second in between but they will have to work harder if they are going to beat Jim...putting in the fastest ladies time at just over 5 mins. Young Sam continues to make good progress and working his way up the field, sharing his time with Des.
