08.04.06 Track

I know its only April but come on weather, a blizzard in April in Jersey, this is just not cricket and certainly not good cycling weather. For those not there it was pretty diabolical...I cycled up and the sun was shining with blue sky and fluffy white clouds and then looming in the distance was a wall of black getting ominously closer. Bearing in mind the weather forecast (which to be fair was pretty accurate) there was a good turn out, but just as Div 2 started off on their 25 mins plus 2 a gust of wind rattled the trees and the white stuff started to come down. I managed a lap, decided enough was enough, as did a few others and ran for home. Full marks to all who stuck with it, particularly Kenny winning with bare legs...but then he did drive up!. Div 1 having had time to savour the conditions decided that discretion was the better part of valour and called it a day before their race was due to start. Thanks to Jim for organising with the help of JPB, Seb, Laura and partner. If the weather carries on like this it’ll be time to take up tiddlywinks!
