Jersey Cycling Association
The Jersey Cycling Association is the representative body of cycle racing in Jersey.  This is the body that sets the selection criteria, and teams, for the Island Games and the Commonwealth Games.  It is made up of a secretary, a treasurer, two delegates from eligible member bodies in the Island with the chairmanship and vice-chairmanship rotating between member bodies on a two-year term of office.  Currently there are only two members; Velo Sport Jersey and the CCC.

The Education, Sport & Culture Committee, the government department responsible for sport, do not deal with individual sporting clubs within the Island.  All sporting matters are dealt with through representative bodies who are elected to represent their respective sports.

2006 Commonwealth Games Standards

The following definitive standards have been agreed with the CWGAJ.

Men’s Road Race (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • A top six finish in BCF National Road Race Championship
  • A top three finish in BCF Divisional Road Race Championship
  • A top six finish in a Premier Calendar Event

Women’s Road Race (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • A top six finish in the Ladies National Championship
  • A top four finish in the WCRA Championship
  • A top six finish in a Team Series Event

All of the above events must be held under UCI rules with all results officially recorded.



Men’s Time Trial (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • ·Finish in the overall top 10 of the CTT Time Trail Series (Rudy Project)
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the CTT 25 mile National Championship
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the CTT 50 mile National Championship
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the British Time Trial Championship

Women’s Time Trial (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • ·Finish in the overall top 10 of the CTT Time Trail Series (Rudy Project)
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the CTT 25 mile National Championship
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the CTT 50 mile National Championship
  • ·Finish in the top 10% of the British Time Trial Championship

Men’s & Women’s Track Standards (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • ·For your chosen event, attain a time equivalent to 8th place in the previous games
  • ·Men: attain a top 8 place in the British National Championship Points Race
  • ·Ladies: attain a top 6 place in the British National Championship Points Race

All of the above events must be held under UCI rules with all results officially recorded.

Mountain Bike Standards (Required to attain one of the following in the year 2005)

  • ·Attain a top 8 place in the British National Championship
