08.06.17 Evening Hill Climb series
In the depths of winter planning this years calendar a double hill climb series seemed like a great idea, a bit of fun, a walk in the park really. When Anne Bowditch told me what a swine both of last nights climbs were I could only nod in agreement as my life hung on a knife edge having enjoyed both sides of the Bonne Nuit ’experience’. Full marks to all who took part and the organisers, who seemed to spend all the time smiling broadly enjoying our suffering knowing they had the power of the internal combustion engine to pull them up the hill. The normal stars showed through but it was good to see the likes of Pete Mitchell up their in 5th, a great performance and Sam Carney finishing a very respectable 13th. As for me I could spend all night giving you excuses....but on second thoughts at my age I need my rest. Thanks to Andy Ilton, Rob Erskine, Harvey, Toby, Ian, Mary & Keith Davis for organising/marshalling and all the spectators cheering us on, it was appreciated honest....and we do this for fun!!!!!!!!
