19/04/09 - JCA 10 M TT Champs La Mare
Velo Sport’s Mike Keighrey took and impressive silver medal in the Vets classification and an also impressive 8th place overall in this mornings JCA 10 Mile Time Trial championships, the first of the JCA Championship 2009 series.

Into a deceptively strong north easterly head/cross wind, the riders headed out to Gorey from La Mare and back to complete the traditional JCA 10 Mile course in some impressive times considering the conditions. A cracking ride from Robin Ovenden saw the CCC rider take the Gold medal overall from the eternally impressive Mike Harris. Robin clocked a time of 22:38 to beat Mike Harris by just over 40 seconds.
Velo Sport’s Vince Person took a fine 3rd place overall for the Bronze medal, missing out on Silver narrowly by just 4 seconds, chapeau Vince!
Hats off to Bill Buist also, taking bronze just 1 second off the first VSJ vets place. Well done to Jo Le Cocq 1st Lady, Steven Hayley 1st Junior beating Sam Carney by just 5 seconds and Cormac Bloomer our first schoolboy on the road!
