06.19 Sprint Kncok Out
Sixteen riders split into pairs for the first round of the sprint knockout at Le Quennevais track, running clockwise from the far corner, down the back straight, though the trees and finishing just before the drop to the lowest point of the circuit. Congtaulations to Russell Crowder taking first place after a hard fought battle with Craig Meredith. The competition threw up some interesting pairings with Mary surprising Mike Keighrey to beat him in the first round, great efort. Young Sam Carney did his best to hold onto Mick Higginsons wheel but couldn’t quite manage to hold on...don’t worry Sam you’ve got age on your side...about 30 years!! Sean twohig won the repercharge. Adrian was busy clicking his camera so hopefully there are some good pictures. In distance terms 500 metres is nothing, but sprinting is hard work, but good practice for Thursday nights.
Thanks to Andy for his hard work in putting the idea together, to me and Bill for organising and Karl Laugeard acting as ’aide de camp’ running messages between start and finish.. all taking part really enjoyed it and hopefully it will become a regular fixture. If I can find the piece of paper with the results on it I’ll post them later.
